Innovation & Development Unit
- Fostering and facilitating entrepreneurial activities in Birzeit University by creating an open innovation platform for students, faculty, and staff to create and work on new ideas and design and implement initiatives that bolster the university’s innovation environment.
- Embracing and implementing specialized entrepreneurial training programs through locally and externally supported projects
- Implementing career services programs provided to students and graduates and networking with employers and trainers in all sectors
Students and the university community can benefit from the unit’s services through the following tracks:
Track One: We interact and think (Pre-incubation)
- Helping in generating, evaluating, structuring and developing entrepreneurial ideas
- Facilitating participation in innovation and entrepreneurship competitions and exhibitions
- Providing experts and mentors in the fields of business development.
- Networking and facilitating the exchange of ideas with the aim of building an integrated entrepreneurial team
Track Two: We develop and test (Incubation)
- Assisting in developing and testing prototypes of innovative solutions
- Developing business plans and project implementation strategies to maximize their chances of success
- Facilitating the construction of industrial designs and obtaining patents and protecting intellectual property rights for qualified ideas
Track Three: We launch and grow (Acceleration)
- Incubating mature entrepreneurial ideas and transforming them into emerging projects and accelerating their growth
- Networking with business accelerators and facilitating joining their program
- Assisting in accessing project funding opportunities
Track Four: Career Services
- Providing career and professional guidance services to students and graduates by helping in writing a CV, cover letter, motivation letter, job interviews, etc., whether by holding group or individual sessions
- Networking and communicating with operating institutions, whether at the local, regional, or sometimes global level, to search for job opportunities or institutional training for students and graduates, or holding training specifically for university students and graduates on campus
- Offering job opportunities and institutional training For students and graduates by publishing it on the unit’s social media platforms or the e-recruitment platform based on what is provided to the unit by operating or partner institutions, or by submitting lists of graduates under certain conditions and in accordance with the institution’s requirements and the nature of the work.
