University and Government Officials Discuss Activating Jerusalem-Birzeit Transportation

Birzeit University’s President Abdul Latif Abu Hijleh September 16, 2015 received the governor of Ramallah and al-Bireh, Laila Ghannam, and the chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Khalil Rizq, to discuss how to work together to overcome challenges facing the university and its students. Dean of Students’ Affairs Mohammad al-Ahmad was also present.

One of the main issues discussed was transportation to the villages of Ramallah and al-Bireh district and how to provide service to students enrolled in late courses. Birzeit University and Ghannam also addressed efforts to activate the Jerusalem-Birzeit Campus transportation service, which promises to serve over 3,000 students. 

Abu Hijleh affirmed the district's unrelenting effort to solve key issues as well as offer needy students with necessary aid. For her part, Ghannam emphasized the role Birzeit University plays on the academic and scientific level by providing the market with distinguished graduates who are capable of assuming responsibility. She affirmed her ongoing support to the university.
