Jerusalemite nursing students achieve high success rate in licensure examinations

Students in the nursing bachelor’s program at Birzeit University achieved a success rate of 81.5% in the Israeli Licensure Examinations for Registered Nurses, with 22 out of 27 students passing on their first attempt.

Jerusalemite nursing students in Palestinian universities faced tremendous challenges applying for the Israeli licensure examination. Due to changes in clinical training after the COVID-19 pandemic, students were required to submit information on study plans and curricula adapted during the pandemic. Nevertheless, the Nursing Department at Birzeit University exerted great effort to incorporate this information into the program’s official academic plan, enabling Jerusalemite students to take the exams.

Birzeit University’s nursing program meets the requirements for Palestinian and international nursing licensure examinations, enabling students to achieve high success rates in these exams, particularly in the National Council of State Boards of Nursing in the US.

To prepare a high-quality nursing workforce, the nursing program at the university accepts a limited number of students and trains students in Palestinian hospitals and clinics. This enables many nursing alumni to work in hospitals and clinics in the US.
