Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering receives IET Power Electronics Premium Award

Professors at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering—Dr. Mahran Quraan, Dr. Muhammad Abu-Khaizaran, Dr. Jaser Sa'ed and Dr. Wael Hashlamoun—received the IET Power Electronics 2021 Premium Award for their research paper “Design and Control of Battery Charger for Electric Vehicles Using Modular Multilevel Converters,” granted by the Institution of Engineering and Technology.

The research was conducted in collaboration with Dr. Pietro Tricoli, professor at the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom.

The IET grants awards to researchers who publish the best paper in any IET journal within the last two years. The papers are evaluated based on the significance of the paper’s scientific advance, impact and achievement, the presentation of the paper and the number of citations and downloads.
