Craftsmen and Craftswomen Sub grant Winners from Hebron and Nablus Signed their Contracts

To encourage circular industries and the circular economy, a group of craftsmen and craftswomen signed 14 financing contracts at Birzeit University | جامعة بيرزيت ,  Wednesday - 14. Dec.2022, as part of the "INNOMED-UP" Project main activities.

The project aims to promote upcycling in circular economy through Innovation and education for creative industries in Mediterranean cities. The Department of Architecture and Planning at Birzeit University participates in cooperation with seven academic, research and professional institutions from the European Union, represented by the cities of Hebron and Nablus.

Dr. Shadi Al-Ghadban the director of #INNOMED_UP project at Birzeit University, said that the grant-winning group submitted applications, and these applications were selected after technical analysis study for each eligible winner, indicating that the duration of the contracts is four months.Furthermore, he explained that the aim of the project is to complete an artistic work through financial support provided by the Mediterranean Sea Basin Program (ENI CBCMED), to recipients of the grant by Birzeit University.

Mr. Amr Al-Jabari a sub grant winner from Hebron city, talked about the aspects of benefiting from the grant, represented in developing the capabilities of the beneficiaries to innovate new products in higher quality, indicating that, due to this grant he will be able to supply equipment of various shapes and purposes at a value of ten thousand euros, in which it will enable him to deal with Iron, wood and stone. 

In addition, Ms. Iman Zaid, a winner of subgrant from Nablus city, stated that she attended trainings in the project that started three years ago, noting that she will get tools and equipment that will enable her to develop her project.
