Birzeit University students, faculty to join French peers in research and training as part of new agreements

Two recently signed agreements with French higher education institutions will allow Birzeit University students, staff, and faculty members to study, train, and share their experiences with their international peers.

The agreements, signed with the Superior School of Journalism of Paris (ESJ), a higher education institution that focuses on journalism and related fields, and the Superior International School of Paris (ESUIP), a multi-disciplinary college, are part of Birzeit University’s push towards greater cooperation with partner institutions worldwide, exposing the university’s community to new knowledge and perspectives and bolstering its international presence.

Signed by President of Birzeit University Dr. Abdullatif Abuhijleh, ESJ President Dr. Guillaume Jobin, and ESUIP President Dr. Lyna Peron, the agreements lay the groundwork for students from Birzeit University to join seminars and lectures organized by faculty and staff from the Paris-based institutions. The university’s instructors, professors, and staff members, too, will be able to cooperate with their colleagues on multi-disciplinary research programs and training workshops.

A team from Birzeit University, comprising External Academic Relations Officer Dr. Amir Khalil, Director of the university’s Palestine and Arabic Studies program Tagreed Abed, met with representatives of the two institutions to further explore areas of cooperation and set the agreements in motion.
