Nursing Faculty Promotes Health Education and Early Detection at 4th Open Day

Birzeit University’s Faculty of Nursing, Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions organized an "Open Medicine Day," on April 30, 2013 in order to promote interest in public health and develop relationships between students’ parents and public health institutions.
Faculty Dean Tamer Essawi said, "This day aims to educate and raise awareness of health issues in the Palestinian community, in order to promote proper health patterns as a key strategy for withstanding health problems and early detection of diseases."
The fourth open day had as its slogan, " Comprehensive Health Care," and included tests to measure blood pressure, pulse and oxygen levels in the blood, glucose, sight, lung function, heart strength (EKG), nutrition and hearing.
Dietary guidelines and visits to the laboratories were also offered as part of the open day, which concluded with a variety of theatrical and art performances and honors for outstanding students.
