New master’s program announced in physical activity and sports sciences
Birzeit University’s Faculty of Education announced the launch of a new master’s program of Physical Education and Sports Sciences designed to provide academic and research education on sports training, physical education and physical activity. The program stems from a bachelor’s degree program in physical education that provides distinctive knowledge in sports fields.
Beginning with the 2022–23 fall term, the new program comprises 36 credit hours, with courses that focus on physiological responses and adaptations in exercises, sports sciences and training theories, methods of teaching physical education, professional players and naturalizing players, sports and politics, nurturing sporting talents, digital technology in physical education and increasing research qualitative and quantitative skills, among other topics.
The Physical Education and Sports Sciences are for those who have degrees related to physical education, instructors and qualified athletic professionals. The master’s program is designed to provide postgraduate academic and research training in sports sciences and exercise, supporting employment in sport and physical activity organizations, and contributing to the development of sports and overall well-being in Palestine through expanding networks and partnerships with relevant institutions, clubs, unions and the like.
