Birzeit University’s Model United Nations (MUN) Forum prepares to hold the first MUN conference from October 27 to 29, 2023. The conference is organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs in collaboration with the Higher Council for Youth and Sport.

Dr. Iyad Tumar, dean of the Student Affairs, maintained that Birzeit University seeks to develop the skills of the Palestinian youth generally and university students in particular by engaging them in activities that enhance their diplomatic skills.

Mohammed Ahmad, activities coordinator at the Deanship of Student Affairs, affirmed that this experience will polish the participants’ character, foster their sense of responsibility and develop their rhetoric, critical and analytical skills.

The conference is expected to feature international experts and ambassadors. The registration for the conference will open in the upcoming days. Around 170 students are anticipated to take part in the conference.

Kareem Assaf, student and president of Birzeit University’s MUN Forum, maintained that the conference will become an annual tradition, noting that the forum's action plan has been outlined and will be implemented next year. The forum will supervise student memberships and incubate their contributions and ideas, setting a new model for student activities and encouraging university students at the regional and international levels to participate in such events.
