Birzeit University Represented on Arab Internet Governance Forum Advisory Body

The Arab Internet Governance Forum secretariat has selected Birzeit University’s Senior Information Systems Auditor Hanna Kreitem to be a member of its Advisory Committee.

Kreitem said that his selection will help to broaden the university’s perceptions of Internet issues in the Arab world and worldwide, and Palestine’s outlook.

The Forum is co-organized under the umbrella organizations of the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) and the League of Arab States (LAS). It was established with the mandate to act as a bottom-up decentralized platform for inclusive consultations on Internet governance and identifying areas of cooperation that involve all stakeholders. Forum activities are coordinated through a central secretariat and directed through the Arab Multi-stakeholder Advisory Group, comprised of over 30 experts from various stakeholder groups.
