As part of the "Academic Excellence Program," Birzeit University (BZU) signed an agreement with the Welfare Association (WA) on 4 June 2013. This program provides scholarships for outstanding needy students, covering tuition fees for undergraduate students during their four-year bachelor studies.
The agreement comprises two major grants namely: “Mr. Munir Kaloti” grant that offers 10 scholarships to students enrolled in the bachelor program, out of which four scholarships are allocated students from Jerusalem. The second grant "Mrs. Hana Kaloti" provides four scholarships for students enrolled in the bachelor program, out of which one scholarship is offered to a student from Jerusalem.
According to the agreement, BZU will be responsible of the management and implementation of the program, while WA undertakes to apply the procedures and requirements for obtaining these scholarships.
This agreement is the third one signed between BZU and WA within the academic excellence program, which is being implemented during 2012 – 2014.
