Academic Development Unit starts training second group of its advancement program
Birzeit University’s Academic Development Unit commenced training the second group of the university’s new faculty members in the “Academic Advancement Program”, conducted by the unit.
Around 18 academics from the Faculty of Arts, Engineering and Technology, Business and Economics, Education, and Art, Music and Design are enrolled in the program that is comprised of seven training sessions. The second group will be doing the training during the second semester of the academic year (2019-2020).
Each new faculty member― with the help and support of the Academic Development Unit―will develop a learning unit as part of a course in the program the university has assigned him/her to teach. Feedback will be provided after the developed unit has been taught in an actual classroom.
The program includes interactive sessions that familiarized new faculty members, who have taught for two years or less at the university, with the university’s laws and regulations, modern pedagogical approaches, modern teaching methods, the university’s strategy (2017-2022), uses of Ritaj and APA evaluating style.
