Education Innovation in Palestine Academia
A workshop organized by Birzeit University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Time and Place: On Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Birzeit University.
The landscape of higher education in Occupied Palestine is rapidly changing, challenging the classical modes of educational content delivery, the role of instructors, institutional and inter-institutional structures and, more generally, the role of universities in the Palestinian society. Because this challenge is global and is not unique to Palestine, this workshop brings together leaders and stakeholder of higher education from Palestine and abroad to:
- Identify the most promising and empowering routes for educational innovation in Palestine academia.
- Develop these trajectories to achieve our goals.
- Engage in dialogues with the administrative leadership of Palestinian universities and beyond.
To reach this goal, we will engage participants in three panels, a speed dating innovation session and break-out groups. This one-day workshop will end with a summary session dedicated to reporting feedback and recommendations to academic leaders with the aim of planning next steps.
