A systematic study of the theory of translation; the description and application of translation and  interpreting; aims, doctrines, principles, and translation and interpretation strategies, functions and norms of translations; translation as an interlingual communication; recent trends in translation studies, thematically offering a problem-focused constituent covering equivalence, register, humor etc. (3 credits, 3 class hours).
