It focuses on developing the oral communicative skills of the students. The course materials deal with current issues such as development, environment, ecology, technology, politics etc. They include printed as well as audio-visual texts. The students will be required to read texts, listen to recorded material and watch videos. Most of the class time will be devoted to summarizing the content, discussing the ideas and assessing the viewpoints of authors. (3 credits, 3 contact hours.
