Understanding the social, cultural, political, economic and climatic conditions that influenced the interior environment of the Mediterranean basin, Europe and Asia; including Prehistoric period, Ancient Mesopotamia, Ancient Egypt, Ancient Greece and Rome (Classical antiquity), Byzantine and Middle ages of Europe (Romanesque, Gothic), Renaissance period and the development of interior spaces in the Islamic periods till the 14th century.
