Experiments on basic techniques in organic chemistry: including isolation, separation, and purification techniques like; Distillations, crystallization, extraction, steam distillation and chromatography. Characteristic and physical properties of pure organic compounds, and physical constants measurements. The identification of various classes of organic compounds using a variety of chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques like GC, GC-MS, IR and NMR. (Lecture 1 hr., Lab 3 hours.).
