An introduction in biochemistry specialized for the needs of the nursing profession. Aqueous solutions and their homeostasis in natural and pathological circumstances. Acids, bases, and their biochemical reactions in the human body. The structure and function of amino acids, proteins, coenzymes, vitamins and minerals. Lipids, carbohydrates and an introduction to the metabolism of macromolecules in the human body (Lecture 3 hours).
