Historic development of population statistics, planning a census, content of census tables, response errors, structure of population registration, types of demographic samples, fertility surveys, demographic surveys and sampling. Design of studies, application of principles of statistical surveys in sample selection, types of demographic surveys, designing questionnaires, evaluation of family planning programs, case studies, writing reports on demographic findings, evaluation of data, assuring consistency of parameters, explaining findings and their effect on planning and policy formulation.
