Develop Business and Economic Research Centers Capacity at Palestinian Higher Education Institutions (BERC)

BERC aims to connect researchers through a research hub that increases monitoring and evaluation. The project helps bring about major improvements in business research innovation by making important research available to the widest possible audience. Wherever possible, subject to author contributions and copyright constraints, it contains the full text of articles, conference papers, book chapters and other published written material.

The research hub liaisons with research centers in Palestine. To this end, the hub will provide managerial, financial, economic and accounting databases such as DataStream or Bloomberg, Lexis/Nexis, COMPUSTAT, among others. In addition, the hub will make the databases fully available for local partners and other stakeholders. The database includes Science Direct , Sage journals Online, Wiley Online Library,  Passport , Key Note , Mintel,   Business Source Complete and Emerald Management eJournals, among others.

Project Objectives:

  • To develop and reinforce quality standards for business and economic research centers of Palestinian higher education institutions.
  • To build the capacities of the staff of business and economic research centers at Palestinian higher education institutions (including standards, methodology, examination and supervision, etc.).
  • To develop national and international partnerships for networking activities among business and economic research centers.
  • To promote alignment and optimization of undergraduate and postgraduate programs with respect to the strategic research clusters, including expanding research opportunities and resources that attract and support a robust number of postgraduate fellows.
  • To tackle societal challenges and develop innovative solutions by engaging in long term collaborative research projects and partnerships.
