This course covers language speech disorders such as deletion, substitution, and addition, manifestations of speech disorders (e.g. stuttering) voice disorders causes, characteristics, diagnosis and treatment, and language and communication disorders models. The focus of this course will be on understanding the needs of children with language and speech challenges, such as children with dyslexia, children having difficulties formulating sentences, having meaning in language and using language. The course will teach cover effective strategies for supporting their learning in an inclusive class.
