Dr. Camille Mansour

Dr. Mansour was born in Haifa. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in law and philosophy from Beirut and a PhD in Islamic studies and political science from the University of Paris. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Institute for Palestine Studies in Beirut. He worked as professor of international relations at the University of Paris in the period 1984 until 2004. In 1994 he founded and headed the Institute of Law at Birzeit University until 2000. In this post he established Al Muqtafi, a database of Palestinian laws, legislation and judicial decisions. Dr. Mansour was a senior advisor to the UNDP program on the rule of law and judicial reform. He was Dean of the Faculty of Law and Public Administration at Birzeit University in 2007 to 2009. He authored and edited several books, including The Independence of the Palestinian Judiciary (Birzeit: Institute of Law, 2011) and Guide to Israel (Beirut: the Institute for Palestine Studies, 2004; new edition published in 2011). Dr. Mansour served as Secretary General of the Board from 2012 until January 2016.
