World class performance of Palestinian Tenor Shamiyeh

As part of Edward Said National Conservatory's winter program, the notable Palestinian-British tenor Marwan Shamiyeh performed on the stages of Naseeb  Azeez Shaheen Auditorium in Birzeit University, on December 17, 2016.

A combination of opera classics in diverse languages were presented by Shamiyeh, accompanied by the Dutch Soprano Marisca Mulder, and the Czeck-German pianist Bela Heartmann, prize-winner of both national and international competitions, all creating a world-class performance on Saturday night.

Shamieh is a Palestinian artist from Ramallah who grew up in Kuwait and lived in the United Kingdom from the age of sixteen. Amongst his first operatic appearances are Tamino in The Magic Flute at the Edinburgh Festival Theater and Ernesto in Don Pasquale in concert performances in France and Japan.
