Second Phase of Planting Conducted to Support Student Fund

As part of the events held at Birzeit University in commemoration of Land Day, the second phase of a project to plant olive trees in support of the Student Fund commenced on March 30, 2013.  The project aspires to transform university land into a productive project that monetarily supports the Student Fund, is funded by the Arab Group for the Protection of Nature, and to be implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture.
To start the project, the Arab Group donated 1,500 olive trees that were planted by students on the northern region of the university campus. The planting and follow-up will be completed through the Student Voluntary Work Program, and the fruits of the olive harvest used to generate income for the Student Fund.
This initiative is part of BZU’s endeavors to support its students, integrate them in society, create a spirit of cooperation among them, and push them to work hard to achieve results.
