Electrical Engineering Department Holds Two Lectures

On 25 August 2012, the Electrical
Engineering Department at BZU hosted two lectures. The first lecture was titled:
“Investigation of Mode Conversion in a Corrugated Circular Waveguide with
Conducting Wall,” delivered by Ms. Nadiah Saba’neh. The second lecture was
titled: “Vector Control of AC Machines,” delivered by Mr. Hakam Shehadeh.

Saba’neh received her M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering-Wireless
Communication from Jordan University of Science and Technology. Her research
interests are mainly focused in the field of microwave, propagation, waveguides
and antennas. In her lecture, Saba’neh discussed her study of the problem of mode coupling of
hybrid HE11 and EH11 modes in a sinusoidally corrugated
circular waveguide with conducting wall

The second lecture was delivered by Shehadeh
who received a bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering–Industrial Automation
from Palestine Polytechnic University (PPU), Hebron. He worked at Texas A&M
University at Qatar and also as a teacher in the applied professions college in
PPU in the electrical engineering program. Shehadeh received his M.Sc. in
Electrical Engineering-Industrial Automation from Yarmouk University, Irbid,
Jordan. His research interest is vector control of ac machines,
including observer systems and sensorless speed control of ac machines.
