Class of 2022 graduates from 11th executive management professional diploma program

Birzeit University’s Center for Continuing Education celebrated the graduation of the 11th cohort of the FIFA/CIES Executive Program in Sports Management, implemented in 19 countries worldwide.

Organized jointly by the Palestinian Football Federation and the International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES), the program offers students management tools to allow them to run their sports entity, considering the needs of their local environment.  After winning the FIFA/CIES University Network Prize, students visited the FIFA headquarters in Zurich.

Vincent Monnier, senior manager of international relations at CIES, expressed his enthusiasm to participate in the graduation, emphasizing that CIES wishes to continue the program in Palestine along with the other countries in which the program is implemented.

Susan Shalabi, vice president of the Palestinian Football Association, said that “We are proud of the so many success stories that came out of this program throughout the year.”

“I hope that this executive program will continue to provide the knowledge and skills needed to develop the work of sports organizations and clubs based on professional and international standards,” Shalabi added.

Rania Al-Qasem, director of the Executive Program in Sports Management, explained the program’s concept and the courses it offers, including sports management, communication of sports, marketing for sports institutions, financial management, sports event management and sports law.

Islam Shaheen, a program graduate, pointed out that the program has broadened his horizons in understanding the opportunities that sports, and sports management, might offer.
