Birzeit University Thanked for Israeli Product Boycott

Birzeit University Public Relations Office received on July 17, 2014 a delegation from the Boycott of Israeli Products Campaign, which included head of the Consumer Protection Association Salah Haniyeh and head of the Palestinian Federation of Paper Industries Ayman Subaih.

The delegation met with Deputy Director of Public Relations Lubna Abdel-Hadi, professor of international studies Ahmad Azm, and public relations delegations officer Ramez Fawadleh.

The delegation expressed appreciation of the university’s keenness to keep its facilities and cafeterias free of Israeli products.

Abdul Hadi thanked the delegation for their gesture, saying that the Birzeit University community is committed to maintain a campus free of Israeli products and to promote Palestinian products in their stead.

At the end of the meeting, the delegation presented a plaque to the university on behalf of the boycott campaign, expressing their pride in the university’s boycott policy.

Birzeit University not only encourages economic boycott of Israel for its occupation, but promotes academic boycott of the occupying state. The university has an active boycott committee that includes a number of professors, in addition to the Right to Education Campaign.
