20 scholarships available for new bachelor's students in Faculty of Science

Birzeit University has announced that 20 competitive scholarships will be available within the Faculty of Science for the 2023-24 academic year. The scholarships target new students who scored 90% or higher in the General Secondary Education Certificate Examination and who wish to study in one of the bachelor’s degree programs offered by the faculty’s four departments: physics, mathematics, chemistry and biology and biochemistry.

Dr. Wafaa Khater, dean of the Faculty of Science, maintained, “The scholarships will cover the full first-year tuition fees. Recipients of the scholarships will be selected competitively based on their performance in the General Secondary Education Certificate Examination or any other equivalent examination. Students will be considered for the scholarships upon their registration, so there is no need to submit a separate application for the scholarship."

She added, “Each year, the Faculty of Science offers various scholarship opportunities for new students. These scholarships aim to increase the number of students in science, physics, chemistry and mathematics to ensure a steady flow in the dwindling pipeline of science and mathematics student enrollment rates.”

In the 2021–2022 academic year, over 45% of Birzeit University’s students were awarded scholarships in the form of full or partial aid.
