Introducing lighting design principles, applications, visual perception, properties of light color, light fixtures and technical calculations. Including energy efficient lighting practices and applicable codes and regulations, as well as written and graphic design documents. Providing a solid foundation of light theory as well as techniques, to research and to specify light sources and fixtures, whilst additionally exploring and developing an understanding of the impact of light on an environmental level as well as the health and safety of individuals. (2 hours theory)
