Mechanical Engineering

The mission of the Master program in Mechanical Engineering which is housed in the Mechanical & Mechatronics Engineering department at Birzeit University is to provide mechanical engineering with up to date scientific and technical knowledge, well exposed to research and development in mechanical engineering to serve the national and international society.

  • Graduating qualified engineers for private and public sectors firms in thermal fluids and in automation engineering 
  • Fulfilling the local Palestinian market needs by providing the market with new mechanical engineering technologies and modern solutions.
  • Qualifying students in engineering design, analysis and research capabilities.
  • Updating professional engineers with the state-of-the-art technological development and multidisciplinary approach in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Conduct, disseminate and publish researches and studies in power and automation.
  • Raise awareness of the local market and engineers about the importance of implementing modern technologies in the fields of thermal fluids and automation Engineering.
  • Providing opportunities to the current Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering students to continue their higher education in mechanical engineering fields.
  •  The program strengthens the BS engineering programs by possible interaction with the Master program students through graduation projects and elective courses.
  • Enhancing the role of the faculty of mechanical engineering in the national activities and policies concerning Mechanical Engineering.
  • Deep understanding of the research techniques and data analysis in the area of specialization.
  • A good knowledge of computational and experimental methods in mechanical engineering.
  • Deep knowledge in one of the specializations area: Thermal fluid, automation and mechatronics.
  • A good practice in written and oral communication on technical matters.
  • Prepared and qualified to be enrolled in International PhD programs.
  • Educational institutions; high school, polytechnic, and university levels.
  • Government engineers in ministries e.g General works, Housing, Energy and natural resources, Palestinian Standards Institute, Planning, Water authority etc.
  • Currently government employed mechanical engineer can go for degree for promotion and advancement in their career.
