Birzeit University tops local institutions, ranks 12th Among Arabs in web ranking
Birzeit University consolidated its position as the leading university in Palestine based on the UniRank directory. The university in 2017 also ranked 12th among Arab universities, climbing ten places compared to last year, and was numbered 1,612 among 12,358 academic institutions in 200 countries in the world.
UniRank, formerly known as 4International Colleges and Universities (4icu), is an international higher education search engine and directory that reviews accredited universities and colleges around the world. The ranking system is especially intended to help students and academic staff in understanding how popular a specific university or college is in a foreign country.
The aim of uniRank is to provide an approximate popularity ranking based upon the popularity of their websites, based on traffic, trust, and quality of link popularity.
The university also ranked first among Palestinian universities, and 29th among Arab universities, early this year in the Google Scholar Citation data issued by the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities.
