BIOL438 | موضوع خاص

This course focuses on fundamental aspects of pathogen-host interactions and covers the biological mechanisms and processes which lead to pathogenesis and disease following infection. Students will be introduced to critical concepts underlying the complex relationships among animal hosts and their microbes, including pathogenic, commensal and symbiotic relationships, with an emphasis on polymicrobial interactions. Students will learn aspects of microbial biology and the host responses they evoke, and aspects of host biology and their effects on resident microbial communities. These aspects will include but are not limited to symbiotic and pathogenic mechanisms, immune response, and host development and physiology.
