Welcome to the Fringe Palestine Day

Twelve Palestinian artists will appear in events comprising part of "Welcome to the Fringe Palestine Day, held at venue Out of The Blue in Edinburgh on Sunday 23 August 2015. This will be a full day of storytelling, poetry, stand-up comedy, dance and a theatre performance of Al-Harah Theatre's production, "Shakespeare's Sisters", alongside showings of Palestinian short films, discussion events and a photography exhibition.
Palestine at the Momentum Festival 2015

Representatives from three Palestinian performing arts organisations: El-Funoun Dance Troupe, Theatre Day Production and Al-Harah Theatre, will take part in the Momentum Festival in Scotland from 13-21 August 2015. The festival provides a dynamic space for networking between international cultural actors.
Therapeutic Arts Workshop
17-20 August 2015
As part of our integrated work in arts, society and education, the third module of the Art Therapy programme will be conducted at the Palestine Red Crescent Society in Ramallah from 17-20 August 2015. Twenty teachers and social workers from the PRCS network of schools for children with hearing difficulties, and from PRCS community centres in the West Bank and Gaza, will participate in the training, which aims to develop the skills of PRCS professionals in the use of the arts as a therapeutic tool.
British Council/ Choir of London Bursary Scheme
Four young and talented Palestinian musicians will attend a Pro Corda Chamber Orchestra residential course in the UK this summer and will take classes with professional London-based musicians at a London music college. This course is part of a longstanding British Council Palestine partnership that has made available opportunities for young Palestinian musicians to benefit from the Choir of London Bursary Scheme.
Secondary English Teachers - Training of Trainers across Palestine
This month two British Council trainers from Palestine and the UK are leading a programme for English language teacher training for the Ministry of Education and UNRWA - Gaza and West Bank. During the first 11 days, the programme will prepare 75 teacher trainers to conduct training for teachers of grades seven to ten.
