French Consulate offers scholarships for higher-degree seekers

“Applying for the French Scholarship Program is now open. The deadline is on February 28, 2017”, the Scholarships and Exchange Officer at the French Consulate Xavier Sau announced in an information session held at Birzeit University on January 18, 2017.

Speaking at the invitation of the External Academic Relations at Birzeit,  Sau said that the French government, through the French Consulate in Jerusalem are offering wide number of scholarships for Palestinian students, who want to obtain their Master’s and PhD degrees. He explained the eligibility criteria and selection process for the scholarship.

“Our goal is to support Palestinian institutions”, said Sau. “We seek to contribute to the training of Palestinian students in France, bringing new skills to Palestine.”

The scholarships targets students in different disciplines; business, engineering, arts and architecture.

The Director of the Office of External Academic Relations Dr. Amir Khalil encouraged qualified students to apply for the scholarship, where they can learn new approaches of knowledge, cultures and experiences. He emphasized on France’s longstanding support for academia and research in Birzeit University, and Palestine in general.
