Major Chemistry/ Minor Business Administration

The mission of the Bachelor program major in chemistry/minor in business administration is to provide students with the background needed for chemistry related positions and/or management level in chemical industry. The program empowers the graduates with managerial and entrepreneurial competencies to qualify them to build a prosperous related career while emphasizing ethical practices.  In addition, the program prepares students to pursue graduate studies in relevant fields.

  • Provide students with a broad foundation in chemistry while integrating basic related sciences to a wide variety of chemical problems.
  • Provide students with basic knowledge in business administration and management.
  • Apply chemical principles in solving qualitative and quantitative chemical problems.
  • Become proficient in chemical and managerial techniques and apply them with in work environment.
  • Equip students with the necessary communication skills required to succeed in job related activities.
  • Demonstrate ethical behavior and decision-making skills as well managing time and resources.
  • Supplying appropriately trained graduates with required knowledge and skills to enhance employment and career opportunities in the relevant fields.
  • Recognize the anatomy of organizations and understand the key functions, systems, theories, practices of business enterprises.
  • Understanding wide range of scientific principles and providing necessary training.
  • Preparing students for admission in professional qualifications and post-graduate studies in the field.
  • Stimulating and challenging reasoning ability by teaching students to think as scientists and business administrators.
  • Developing the abilities to apply analytical thinking and operating skills to find solution to chemical problems.

  • Developing conceptual skills in business language, interpersonal, communication, oral and written communication, networking, decision-making, critical thinking and problem solving.
  • Applying the standard data analyses methodology and operating several basic related equipment and instruments.
  • Performing the required tasks on a timely manner

  • Applying learning in chemistry and business administration to different business settings.
  • Conducting assigned tasks confidently and evaluate career practices based on legal and ethical criteria
  • Teamwork and the ability to tackle a practical work, and analysis of the results, data, arguments and cases.
  • Information retrieval in relation to literature information sources, including online searches and information technology skills.

Graduates of the bachelor program can be employed within the following:

  • Governmental sector:  including education, various ministries such as Ministry of Environment, Ministry of National Economy, Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Health, the Water Authority and Metrology,
  • Private sector: including science education and the managing pharmaceutical companies,
  • Industrial sector: including research centers and non-governmental organizations, and
  • Pursuing graduate studies at the national and international levels
