Electrical Engineering
The Joint Master in Electrical Engineering (JMEE) program aims to the development and application of electrical engineering sciences, and to contribute to the advancement of the Palestinian society by providing technical, scientific knowledge, and research skills to engineers, in order to prepare them for leadership in the fields of communication engineering and electric power engineering, and to meet the needs of local, regional and global markets, as well as enabling the program student to resume their higher education.
To graduate students with master's degrees in electrical engineering with the possibility of concentrating in the area of electrical power engineering or telecommunications engineering by:
- Contributing the local market with skilled and professional electrical engineers specialized in the areas of communications engineering, mobile phone technology, power engineering, renewable energy, smart grid systems,
- Providing knowledge and experience in the fields of electrical engineering, while giving students the opportunity to specialize in a particular area of electrical engineering,
- Networking and partnership with those working in related areas from public and private sectors and international institutions,
- Developing and capacity building of local engineers,
- Formulating and developing scientific research,
- Contributing to the dissemination of awareness, among students and community, of the role and importance of renewable energy,
- Giving the opportunity for students to implement projects related to domestic or global industries, through the development of a system or finding a solution to a particular problem in order to contribute to the development of local and global industries.
- Have and develop a thorough knowledge and understanding of the theoretical and applied principles of electrical engineering,
- Have and develop a comprehensive understanding of the requirements for designing, analyzing and evaluating electrical engineering projects,
- Have a comprehensive and accurate knowledge of communication systems and the related applications,
- Have a comprehensive and accurate knowledge about electrical power systems and the related applications,
- Be able to select and apply an appropriate methods to solve electrical engineering problems within specific framework,
- Develop critical awareness about the implications of the electrical engineering systems and applications on the Palestinian Society, economically and socially.
- Be able to plan and design electrical power systems and networks, methods of protection and management, and its operation and ensure safety
- Be able to design and analyze electric power conversion systems and their applications,
- Be able to explain and discuss the characteristics of renewable energy systems, and to design practical solutions for an optimal and safe usage,
- Be able to estimate future energy needs and to plan and suggest appropriate solutions,
- Be able to automate electrical systems through the use of computer programming and optimal control,
- Be able to design and operate electrical machines,
- Be able to design and analyze smart electrical networks and systems and to identify their components and characteristics,
- Be able to estimate the future demand regarding communication systems and technologies and make the appropriate plans,
- Be able to develop and analyze telecommunications networks and compare between them,
- Be able to design and analyze computer networks and propose and implement practical safe solutions,
- Be able to plan and analyze advanced cellular systems and evaluate their performance,
- Be able to plan and analyze sensor networks and evaluate their performance,
- Be able to use signal processing techniques to study and analyze digital communication systems,
- Be able to design and analyze different antenna types,
- Be able to develop and apply the protocols of telecommunications and computer networks,
- Be able to conduct scientific research in advanced areas of electrical engineering, including telecommunications and electric power,
- Be able to use various means of technology,
- Be able to prepare, analyze, and critique electrical technical reports,
- Be able to provide innovative and creative solutions supported by scientific evidence within specific framework,
- Be able to manage time and resources effectively,
- Be able to deal with emerging and contemporary electrical engineering issues,
- Be able to critique and evaluate electrical engineering systems and networks,
- Be able to analyze the requirements of electrical engineering applications and to build appropriate system model,
- Be able to critically analyze complex scientific concepts in electrical engineering.
- Be able to communicate technical issues effectively,
- Be able to write, review and present project proposals, scientific papers and patents,
- Be able to use computer software to design and implement electrical engineering projects,
- Be able to choose and apply experimental measurement techniques and to study and process extracted data,
- Be able to conduct scientific research and to design experiments and process their results,

Communication Track
- Follow-up on academic achievement and pursue a PhD degree in communication engineering or related fields,

- Companies and institutions that design and operate computer networks and information security systems,
- Palestinian Authority, such as the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Palestinian Institution for Standards and Metrology, and others,
- Non-governmental and international organizations,
- The academic field in the industrial and vocational schools,
- Academic and educational field,
- Research centers in the fields of communications and technology.
Power Track
- Follow-up on academic achievement and pursue a PhD degree in power engineering or related fields,
- Engineering offices and contracting companies,
- Companies for generation and distribution of electric power,
- Design, analysis and construction of smart grid systems in electricity distribution companies,
- The Ministry of Public Works and Housing, and the Palestinian Energy and Natural Resources Authority, and others,
- Housing and urban cities projects,
- Factories and related companies,
- Non-governmental and international organizations,
- The academic field in the industrial and vocational schools,
- Academic and educational fields,
- Research centers in the fields of power, renewable energy and control.
- Students are to pass successfully 36 credit hours, whereas, 15 compulsory credit hours, 15 elective credit hours and 6 credit hours for Master thesis.
