Accounting

The mission of the Bachelor in accounting is to provide undergraduate students with the fundamentals needed for the accounting profession through maintaining high academic standards and an excellent learning environment, which would prepare the accounting students for careers as professional accountants in public practice industry as well as for postgraduate studies and other areas.

  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills in basic and advanced accounting concepts and apply the learned accounting skills and knowledge.
  • Communicate business information effectively and ethically, both verbally and in written forms.
  • Develop the technological competency required in the field, as well as integrate technology in problem solving in a variety of academic and market-related areas.
  • To acquire an understanding the market and the general business environment
  • To practice within the professional, ethical, and legal parameters of the accounting and business profession
  • To show an understanding of sophisticated and advanced accounting topics.
  • To demonstrate the importance of the accounting profession in society
  • To differentiate the needs of various users of accounting data
  • To acquire the ability to analyze and prepare financial statements
  • To acquire the ability to read and understand research papers and study cases in accounting, as well as the ability to prepare research papers and presentations on various accounting topics.
  • To analyze financial and non-financial data in order to become well informed decision makers.
  • To communicate financial data and provide knowledgeable recommendations effectively.

  • To employ IT skills in solving accounting problems and in preparing assignments.

Graduates from the Accounting program are highly sought by employers both locally and abroad. Our graduates have gone on to pursue careers in various institutions, including:

Accountancy and professional services - Ernst and Young, Deloitte, PricewaterhouseCoopers - as well as other graduate level employers such as BDO.

Finance and banking –Bank of Palestine, Arab Bank, Amman Cairo Bank, the National Bank, Palestine for Credit and Development (Faten), Al-Ahliyya insurance, as well as many other companies in similar fields.

Government –Ministry of finance, Palestine Monetary authority, as well several other local governmental offices.

Plus – Jawwal, Paltel, Al-Wataniyya,Unipal, Padico,Masrouji, and various other companies.
