Funded Research

Birzeit University offers extended programmes for funded research, and constantly encourages academic staff to undertake institutionally funded ventures. The Research Committee is tasked with the organisation and distribution of workload in order to yield the greatest results from staff members working on such projects. The university also seeks to provide its students, at all levels, with the opportunity to obtain research opportunities. Therefore, The Research Committee does its upmost to provide faculty with the adequate time, space, and physical resources to conduct research.

Funded Academic Activities in 2014/2015

Last academic year the Vice-President of the Academic Affairs Office had confirmed the allocation of $170,839 for research projects submitted members of the university. Research teams are comprised of both faculty and student groups with MA students leading their own research under the supervision of a member of staff. Financial support is available partially or entirely upon individual request for both international and regional conferences at all levels.

Through the Scientific Research Committee, the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs provided financial support valued at $84,950 for 13 research projects in 2014/2015.
