Young entrepreneurs present new ideas at Techno-Park Creative Cluster Campus

More than thirty young entrepreneurs presented their ideas and project proposals at the second pitching event for the Creative Cluster Project (CCC), organized by the Palestine-India Techno Park, and in collaboration with the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Unit at Birzeit University.

The first phase of the Creative Cluster Project was launched in August 2017, aiming to create jobs and opportunities for entrepreneurship by targeting the Palestinian youth sector. 

The project, supported by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP-DEEP), funded by the Islamic Development Bank and supervised by the Ministry of Social Development, focuses on various disciplines: technology, advertising, architecture, arts and crafts, fashion, video and cinema, photography, music, visual and theater arts, publishing, software, computer games, virtual reality, radio, television, satellite broadcasting, renewable energy, solar-powered vehicles, robots, internet of things  and cloud computing.

A specialized committee chose the candidates best qualified to proceed to the second phase, taking into account the size of each project, its objective, its degree of innovation and creativity, its target segment and the beneficiary group.

The committee is comprised of a member at the Manager of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Unit, Dr. George Yeousis; Tala Khalifeh from the United Nations Development Program (UNDP); Nasri Barghouthi from Pitman Training; Salah Amleh, Head of Bethlehem Business Incubator and the Ebtikar Fund; ; and Mustafa Ali, representing the Palestine- India Techno Park.

The key stakeholders of the Creative Cluster Campus Project include the Kangaroo Program, which aims at developing startups with large companies, and the Unemployed Youth project, which targets youth with innovative ideas and technical competency who want to launch new technology-related startups in Creative Cluster-related industries
