University staff and faculty members explore technology integration in course assessment in visit to University College Cork

A team from Birzeit University visited University College Cork on March 9-17 as part of the Erasmus+ project entitled “Transforming Assessment Practices in Large-Enrollment First-Year Education.”

The team, which included Dean of the Faculty of Education Dr. Ahmad Aljanazrah (Birzeit University project coordinator), Assistant to the President Dr. Abdel Aziz Shawabkeh, and Drs. Hasan Abdelkareem and Mousa Khaldi, professors in the Faculty of Education, explored methods of integrating technology in evaluating large-enrollment courses at Birzeit University.

The team met with members of University College Cork’s Centre for the Integration of Research, Teaching and Learning and shared their experiences in improving the quality of higher education and presented a lecture on the challenges of Palestinian tertiary education under Israeli Occupation.

The Faculty of Education represents Birzeit University in this project as part of a partnership with An-Najah National University (the project leader), Palestine Polytechnic University, University College of Applied Sciences, the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission, and a number of European universities.
