University, Ministry of Education to Working Together on Education Development

Birzeit University President Abdullatif Abuhijleh and Minister of Education and Higher Education Sabri Saidam concluded on June 27, 2016 an agreement aimed at furthering their collaboration in education and research.

The agreement focused on pedagogy and curriculum development, teaching practices, and teacher and student education in higher education institutions. It also states that the two sides will cooperate to enhance the use of technology in the educational process.

Saidam emphasized the importance of building partnerships with higher education entities in Palestine, stating that the ministry seeks to reinforce its efforts to develop a modern educational platform for students.

“Our academic entities, especially Birzeit University, are optimal partners for developing the educational sector in Palestine,” he said. “We are committed to the development of education, providing experts, special courses, training modules and modern curricula, and offering opportunities for our students to continue their education and build the future that they deserve.”

Abuhijleh said the university strives to ensure students receive the quality of education they expect and deserve. He said he was sure that “through the ministry’s continuous efforts to build cooperation with Palestinian universities and other local and international entities, we will be able to find a wealth of options to well-prepare our students for the future.”
