University honors student team that won Arabic Moot Court Competition

The Faculty of Law and Public Administration celebrated a group of its students who won first place in the fifth Arabic Moot Court Competition, held April 6, 2018, at the Kuwait International Law School. 

The ceremony, held on Monday, May 28, 2018, was attended by Dr. Yaser Amouri, dean of the Faculty of Law and Public Administration, who applauded the efforts of the students, who took first place despite the short period of training they undertook.

“Winning regional and national competitions is a testament to the caliber of our students and professors. Through their concerted efforts, the faculty has become a hub of legal knowledge and a regionally-respected establishment,” said Amouri. 

Dr. Mustafa Abdul Baqi, chair of the Department of Law, noted that the faculty’s student team has won three out of five Arab Moot Court competitions. In addition to their win in 2018, the team won first place in the 2017 and 2015 competitions, held in Kuwait and Qatar, respectively.  

The team included Adam Al-Aghbar, Michelin Du’aiq, Mira Salhi, and Ihklas Nasser, who were trained by Newar Bdair and Omran Tamimi, instructors in the Faculty of Law and Public Administration. Mira Salhi, a member of the team, was awarded the prize for best prosecutor.
