Birzeit University and the Association of Banks in Palestine have renewed their collaborative agreement to continue to support scientific research in the banking sector, on March 8, 2016.

The Association will offer a $5000 Award for the student with the best research. Research topics are suggested by the Association based on the needs of the banking sector in Palestine.

The renewal of the agreement was signed by the Dean of the Faculty of Buisness and Economics Dr. Grace Khoury and Chairman of the board of directors at the Association Joseph Nisnas, with the attendance of the Association Director Nabil Abu Diab and a number of head departments and directors at the Faculty.

‘Both Birzeit University and the Association of Banks in Palestine share two important values: commitment to education and the country’s development’, Khoury stated. ‘ This is a good example for business and higher education cooperation which provides opportunities for networking, mutual learning and research.’

‘Research, education and innovation are the drivers of the knowledge economy. Higher education, in cooperation with the banking sector, can help deliver the skills necessary to enable innovation and solidify the national economy.’
