Two delegations from Finnish universities visit the Faculty of Education

Two delegations from the University of Helsinki and the University of Eastern Finland visited Birzeit University and held meetings with the university and local community.

The Olive project coordinator from the University of Helsinki, Prof. Hille Janhonen-Abruquah, has concluded a two-week visit to Birzeit University, where she met with faculty members and conducted field visits to Palestinian schools in Ramallah and Jerusalem. Prof. Janhonen- Abruquah attended Introduction to Education, Teaching English Practicum and English Curriculum classes as a guest lecturer. During the visit, Prof. Janhonen-Abruquah discussed the prospects for enhancing research cooperation between the universities.

The University of Eastern Finland delegation included Sampo Frosström, Justus Kinnunen and Jani Kontkanen. The delegation met with faculty members and students to discuss the philosophy of Finnish education and the Finnish Education Qualification program. The delegation also met with local educational organizations.

In reference to the Olive project, the delegations visited olive fields and were introduced to Palestinian social life during the olive harvest season.
