Third Class of Primary School Teachers Enroll in Career Development Program

Birzeit University received on September 13, 2014 the third batch of first through fourth grade teachers as part of a career development program being implemented by the Faculty of Education for the third year in a row alongside the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.

Enrolled in the project are 139 teachers from the Ministry of Education directorates of Ramallah, Al-Bireh and Salfeet.

On behalf of the dean of the Faculty of Education, Wafa’ Ramahi welcomed the teachers, emphasizing the importance of such projects in achieving career development. Ramahi thanked the program’s administrative staff and trainers from both the National Institute for Educational Trainingand the university.

On behalf of the National Institute of Educational Training Shahnaz El-Far, the deputy director general of the Institute Sadiq Alkhadoor explained that the program falls within the framework of a teacher training strategy to meet the goal of educational development.

Project coordinator and institute head of training Mari Soos then answered the incoming teachers’ questions, clarifying the program instructions and privileges.

The program extends over two semesters. Representatives of the faculty of education and other partner universities were part of the ministry’s delegation to visit the University of Canterbury in Britain, to discuss the development of training mechanisms that serve the vision of the teachers’ training program for grades one through four.
