Students take the lead in annual IEEEXtreme programing competition

Birzeit University won first place among Palestinian competitors and 116th among internationals in the annual “IEEEXtreme” competition, held by the world’s largest technical professional organization for the advancement of technology, IEEE. More than 4000 teams from around the world participated in the competition.

The competition is a 24-hour competition in which teams compete against each other to solve a set of programming problems.  The competition started on October 20, 2018, at Birzeit University, alongside different participating universities around the world.

IEEE Student Coordinator Abduallah Abu Salah said that twelve teams from Birzeit University participated in the competition, and got the first, second, third, fourth, and sixth place in Palestine.

IEEEXtreme is a global challenge in which teams of IEEE student members, supported by an IEEE student branch. The IEEE Student Branch at Birzeit University is sponsored by Experts Turnkey Solutions.
