Students Seek to Manage Construction of Qatar Commercial Boulevard

The construction engineering and management area of research prepares students to manage and design the construction and operation of sustainable buildings and infrastructure systems in the increasingly global construction industry.

A team of three civil engineering students, Musab Marqa, Mohammad Al Musleh and Abdulhamid Mimi, seek to take part in the creation of modern cities, merging their theoretical skills in engineering and management in a contemporary way.

The students presented an idea to manage the construction stage for a tunnel at the Lusail Commercial Boulevard project in Qatar. Lusail City in Qatar aims to create a modern, smart and sustainable 21st century city in the Gulf region.

Their project will measure and manage the structural work of the tunnel. It involves the preparation of a schedule and detailed bill of quantities for each activity in the project. To reduce human and computation errors, the concept of computer software will be utilized.
