Students Oriented on Academic and Administrative Portal “Ritaj”

As part of student orientation programs, and in cooperation with the Ministry of Labor and German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), the Birzeit University Alumni and Career Services Office held on April 22, 2014 an orientation workshop on the "Academic and Administrative Portal – Ritaj.”

 

The aim of the new portal is to direct students in job selection, make them aware of job hunting techniques, and assist them in choosing a field of specialization.

 

Birzeit University’s Vice-President for Administrative Affairs Adel Zagha expressed his pleasure at the launching of this new electronic portal, which will contribute to helping students find suitable jobs and get involved in the labor market.

Deputy Minister of Labor Nasir Al-Qatami spoke about high unemployment rates in Palestine, addressing ministry policies intended to fight this phenomenon. Qatami said that the ministry’s employment bureausareseeking to modify economic, social and educational policies in Palestine in order to assist in creating employment opportunities.

GIZ Reform and Policies Programme director Reem Khalil said that the launching of this electronic portal will contribute to improving the quality of education, vocational training and technical training vis-à-vis its association with the labor market, in addition to developing labor market services and tools that target young people and university students in the first place.
