Students learn about Erasmus+ exchange opportunities

Birzeit University’s External Academic Relations Office organized an information session to present the upcoming international mobility programs and scholarships offered through the Erasmus+ program on February 25, 2020.

Amir Khalil, director of the External Academic Relations Office, began the session by introducing the students to the programs offered by Erasmus+. He explained the application process and listed the required paperwork, pointing out that students can apply for each mobility program through Ritaj, the university’s academic and administrative portal. Khalil encouraged students to apply for this year’s programs, as they offer great exchange opportunities at prominent European universities and other universities in the region.

Khalil informed the students that the External Academic Relations Office supports and can mentor them on how to apply for these programs, but that certain requirements and qualifications must be met for a student to be accepted in a program. These include a minimum number of completed credit hours, a certificate confirming the student’s English language proficiency, and the students’ accumulative grade point average.

Birzeit University joined the Erasmus+ program in the academic year 2014–2015, thereby providing academic exchange opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students at more than 63 European universities. In the academic year 2019–2020, 53 students participated in academic exchange.
