Students Hear Entrepreneurship Success Stories at Seminar

The Alumni and Career Services Office hosted the fifth Entrepreneurial Tours events series entitled “Path to Success.”The series is part of the Palestinian House in Silicon Valley program, initiated by Leaders Organization and supported by the American Consulate General in Jerusalem.

The seminar provided an overview of the experience of being an entrepreneur and a glimpse of the entrepreneurial mindset, behaviors and skills. It also highlighted the importanceof creativity and observation in identifying and developing entrepreneurial opportunities that will support economic development, self-sufficiency, and sustainability.

The Palestinian House in Silicon Valley program has sent nine startups to Silicon Valley, where they were hosted for a month in local accelerators, met with investors, and had the chance to participate in international networking events.

Vice President for Development and Communication Ghassan Al-Khatib and Dean of theFaculty of Business and Economics Grace Khoury assured the group that Birzeit University supports the cutting edge of development and entrepreneurship.

“We are committed to helping preserve and enhance investment in our students and their education, and ensuring they have the support they need from the university in order to achieve their education and career goals,” Al-Khatib said.

Leaders Organization Operational Manager Zaher Basyouni said that his organization is keen on offering youth programs that enhance their skills and encourage them to innovate. “We aim at creating a flourishing business innovative culture. We seek to unleash the potential of youth to develop and grow their ideas into thriving businesses.”

The discussion session was facilitated by the assistant dean in the Faculty of Business and Economics, with a number of entrepreneurs sharing their journey of success with the students.
